The Biochar Group

Carbon Sequestration

Waste Management, Soil Regenerative, Fertilizers & Waste Water Purification

What is biochar or bio carbon sequestration?

Biochar is the solid black and dark material, rich in carbon, obtained from the thermochemical conversion of biomass in an oxygen-limited environment, also called pyrolysis process.

Biochar is an innovative approach to carbon sequestration, as it has the potential to help mitigate climate change.

Biochar Group - processes

The biomass is introduced in a kiln to burn under the pyrolysis process into biochar. The biomass could be manure, organic wastes, like animals, or crops residues, but Biochar group will use exclusively Bamboo from its own organic production.

Why biochar?

It is used as a soil enhancer, where it can endure for thousands of years, ideal for gardeners, hobbyists, enthusiasts as much as large-scale agricultural producers. Biochar can increase soil fertility of acidic soils (low pH soils), increase agricultural productivity, and provide protection against some foliar and soil-borne diseases.

It provides habitat for soil microbes, and increases soil moisture.

Biochar can also act as in the water purification process for wastewater.

On top, it is a effective carbon sequestration process to help fight climate change.
